Slowly I’m starting to document as many illuminated mirrors that get purchased and installed in homes throughout Sydney. Yesterday we dropped off the final piece to her amazing bathroom renovation. The Mirror comes in 2 parts. First part is the lightbox, which is made entirely out of aluminium and sits only 20mm off the wall. This backing structure houses the led lights and the split battens in which the mirror hangs onto. The Mirror is the second part, the mirror easily slots onto the slit battens, it is best to wait until the bathroom is completed and the final piece that is installed is the mirror. Please visit the install guide PDF to check out how the install works.

This beautiful mirror with lights in Sydney is 1m wide by 1.2m high.

First, her electrician wires in a power lead down the wall up into the ceiling, from there our 12-volt transformer is plugged into an outlet. It would be exactly the same as if a downlight was being installed. Downlights come in 12-volts. Each downlight is plugged into its own mini transformer to convert the 240v power into 12 volts. The same is without Lighted Mirror. That power outlet is wired to a wall switch. From there the illuminated mirror can be turned on or off. A client may ask can they have that switch to power the lights in the room and the lights in the mirror.

The answer to that is yeah of course. Hotels and resorts often do this, just for the easy as it’s one flick of the switch and the mirror light comes on with the ceiling lights. We recommend that you have 2 separate switches. Maybe you find you don’t want the ceiling lights on when the mirror is on. The lights in the mirror can be dimmed down to act as a night light, for those who don’t want bright blinding lights to come on when they visit the bathroom in the night.

We think that the Verge Lighted Mirror perfectly compliments this bathroom as there is no window to let in natural light. There is a skylight but that alone did not let in enough light to have a well-lit bathroom. The mirror doubles as a perfect makeup mirror, as the light is a natural daylight colour. We sourced the best-led lights we could find which had the right hue for applying makeup. More often the not LED lights used in makeup applications are either too warm or too cool to apply makeup. To check out in more detail the LED lights we use please visit the LED lighting page.

We hope you enjoy the Verge Lighted Mirror we display in these images below. If you are after a Lighted Mirror or have any questions about illuminated mirrors please do not hesitate to give us a call, we are more then happy to discuss a project with you no matter how big or small.

With the illuminated mirror being 26mm off the wall (6mm mirror with 20mm backing) it can fit behind the tap.
